Hello and thank you for visiting! I am Anthony (Tony) Bockheim and have been working with a camera since the beginning of 2016. I earned my degrees in music from Brookhaven College (2005) and Texas Woman's University in (2008) with a focus on classical guitar and composition. I left America after graduation to teach English in South Korea. The move abroad quickly provided me a wealth of new experience and learning as well as financial security unknown to me in the United States.
As I grow into photographic adolescence I am much more aware of what I wish to convey with the images I present. I am very interested in nature and its struggle to cohabitate with humanity. Another interest is the simple folly of mankind. We wage war, we build things that rarely last long, and we do not collectively seem to have the fortitude to sacrifice for the good of all. It is my sincere hope that we mature as a species soon. Earth, life, and some human remnants will surely remain. However, if we realize our potential extinction en masse and learn to work together soon our oasis has hope. I will be observing and sharing the slice of this grand story visible to me.
The images seen on this page were captured with three different cameras. A Nikon D80 walked with me during my introduction to photography. That beautiful machine was upgraded to a D7100 a year and a half into this journey and shortly thereafter a Nikon F2AS analogue camera entered my life. The images were initially processed with DXO optics and subsequently fine tuned with Photoshop. Thanks once again for stopping by.
